Found this - Apparently you can run Zoom - at least to the extent that you can join meetings - from the latest Microsoft Edge browser - the Edge bowser based on Chromium. Can you download and use Zoom with Window 10 S mode? If you open the Microsoft Community homepage, the information for "new" Edge is "right there" on the web page. As a side bar: I installed this version of Edge into "regular" Windows 10 Pro a while ago - it is a nice browser, in my opinion.
I don't think you can "get the app" - Zoom is not an application not at this writing, at least. And, you are correct - Windows in "S" mode is limited - you can only install software from the Store. Click " Accept as Solution" to help others find it. I decided to opt out of the s mode. I have installed Chrome and the apps I need and I'm happy with what I have now.

Microsoft is the new one. Edge is provided by roxia for zoom. Xyl, it has zoom support, extenstion, and it is chrome-built. The Zoom meeting feature or the possibility to meet instantly are both available in Edge. Zoom for Microsoft Edge can be downloaded and installed. Then select How to Schedule a Meeting when clicking the extension. Log in to your Google account, select the option. You will then be able to select the meeting options on the next screen.
The Zoom Cloud Meetings App can be downloaded by searching for the app store. The app will now automatically open for the meeting once you click the link. On the Join a meeting page, choose the Not Registering option if you want more information about the meeting.
The web client is best suited for use on Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Chromium Edge, since it offers only a few features and functions. Zoom does work just like Google Chrome extension when applied to Edge. A Zoom meeting is available from Google Calendar or you can initiate an instant meeting at Edge. To install Zoom on Microsoft Edge, please download the add-on.
Sign in with your Google account, select a date and time, and click the Add a Meeting option. Z should be held up or down by your mouse as you go from the Z button to the next item.
The Zoom software will automatically adjust the web page live. Opening Hours : Mon - Fri: 8am - 5pm. Select the icon, then select the slider for changing your zoom level.
